AFK TRPG Fantasy (Playtest)

AKF Core (Fantasy) is a minimalist, playable WIP, a dark Tabletop RPG inspired by the Old School spirit with a few modern twists! I highly trust the itch.io RPG community so I’m pretty excited to share this Playtesting! 

It is based on a single d12 for what I temporarily call the Secret Engine: it has a low amount of crunch and a high rate of customisation thanks to an intuitive skills and stunts system for quick and inspiring adventuring! 

This is actually a condensed version of a wider project, but I ended up liking this minimalist version more so I decided to share it with all of you for feedback and open playtest!

Core Features:

- three stat system based on activities: Adventuring, Fighting, Knowledge
- only a d12 + stat (with 8+ being the norm, 6/10 being easy/hard)
- Natural 12 (or total 12 if you have skill mastery) generate free Stunts you can spend right away to alter the fiction. This works for the Referee as well! 
- strict but versatile inventory system inspired by Knave by Ben Milton and Index Card RPG by Runehammer. 
- interesting choice based Spellcasting system I was intrigued by (and central to a parallel project you’ll see!)
- not that forgiving, but fixed damage + the scaling armour engine grants depth.

GOTCHA! What’s in there?
The download contains a single file: the 16 pages fully bookmarked and interlinked Core Book with minimal art by me (yep, I’m not a visual artist, just having fun with procreate and putting a LOT of passion into those colourful deformed toons xD) including:
- guidelines for the simple d12 engine 
- bits on the sparkling stunt mechanic
- complete character creation with skills and three Special Abilities (Enchanting, Spellcasting and Weapon Specialization, having short, but evocative rules). 
- notes and ideas on various elements like the inventory management and symmetric gameplay with PC like enemie
- Tables for the Referee: d12 spells, formulae, enemies… And simple hooks such as Resting troubles, In Town events and Quests to move the first steps into the world! 
- Character Sheet and 3 Pregens!
